- Dr. Bouie is a Black artist currently living in Washington, D.C. She previously worked as a teacher and spent several years creating educational programing for inner city schools. She discusses her life from childhood, early education, later experiences in college and graduate school. Then, she talks about her experiences as a Black educator serving inner city students and her transition into being an artist. Finally, she shares her thoughts on the Black Lives Matter movement and the role of art and spirituality in sustaining social movements. The interview was conducted remotely through the podcasting program Zencastr and we experienced some technical difficulties.

- A classroom of young indigenous Maya girls listen to an instructor at an elementary school in Comalapa, Guatemala, February 1, 1982. The military regime following the 1954 coup had implemented literacy programs for the Maya population to assimilate them into the Spanish-speaking Ladino society. Spanish became the official language of Guatemala in 1965 with the new constitution. Bilingual education for the indigenous Maya served as a form of ethnocide, aiming to integrate the indigenous and Ladino populations at the expense of the Mayan languages. Conversely the Ladino Spanish-speaking population was not encouraged to be bilingual in a Mayan language.

- Tim Davis is a Black artist currently living in Northern Virginia and active in the D.C. arts scene. He is originally from the Chicago area but has spent the past few decades in the D.C. area. In addition to extensive work with public arts programing, he worked for a teacher for more than thirty years. He discusses his life from childhood, experiences in school with busing, observing the Civil Rights Movement, and his career history. Finally, he reflects on the role of art in social movements and the Black Lives Matter Movement in particular. He concludes by recounting some of his experiences at the protests during summer 2020. The interview was conducted remotely through the podcasting program Zencastr without issue.
